Great Online Discounts
So I was out screwin around on the great Al Gore invention of the World Wide Web and I found some nice sites for those of us in the military to save us some money. Who doesn’t like to get something at a discount or even better for free. Some of the following links are for military only and others are for Joe Schmoe. So this is a link to his blog Military Finance Network. On that site you will find many articles devoted to personal finance as it relates to the Military. He will go much more in depth on money subjects than I will on this site. These other links are good to get some free stuff.
Now some of you may be wondering what the Credit Card one is all about. Well let me tell you that Credit Card link is a way to earn free money just by signing up. That’s right sign up for a card get some free money and there you go just cut up the card once you get PAID.

Just be careful on the CC offers. If you open too many credit cards in a short period of time, your FICO score will drop off.
Also, whatever card you open first you should keep open (even if you don’t carry a balance on it), because how LONG your credit history is can be a major factor in your score. (Which is why I still have a Sear’s branded card even though it hasn’t had a charge on it since 1996).

My Sears card was just closed by the company due to lack of activity so if you want to make sure that it does in fact stay open you may want to charge something and pay it off at least once a year. I know you have a son in the Marines and if he is anything like me he would love some craftsman tools for Christmas. Just charge it and immediately pay it off.
