Sarah Palin
So ever since last week I have been trying to do some research on one Sarah Palin. Unless you have been living under a rock you know that John McCain chose the Alaskan Governor to be he running mate for the upcoming election. My first thought (and still current thought) was wow that’s gutsy and I think it is going to help.
As you may or may not have heard many Hillary supporters (especially the older, white, woman, crowd) do not support Obama. I believe that by choosing Gov Palin McCain is hoping to woo that group over to his side and help swing the election away from Obama.
Gov Palin is a kind of an anomally in the GOP and might help swing votes to the McCain/Palin camp in that she is a former union worker and the wife of a union member. This might help McCain out in the so called “rust belt” of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and other Midwest states that tend to vote Dem. These three states alone account for 58 electoral votes in the general election in November. Palin also is an avid outdoorsman (I gave up on being politically correct a long time ago so don’t sue me) and gun owner, and runner-up in Miss Alaska contest (hell yeah chicks with guns). She is also for drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve (ANWR).
As you can imagine even with all the good that Palin brings to the table there are some setbacks as well that you might have heard over the weekend. Her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and is planning to marry the 18 year old soon to be father later on. While this is not a terrible thing in politics everything is fair (that whole love and war thing). Also there are rumors out there that she had a public official fired or something like that while that official and her sister were going through a divorce (don’t piss this woman off is all I can say).
All in all I think McCain made a great choince in his running mate for the upcoming election, and although I didn’t need another reason to not vote for Obama this choice for his running-mate did not hurt.

Jarhead, I agree that Senator McCain made a great choice for his VP. Like you, I believe Senator Obama would make an abysmal President. He lacks judgment, experience, and is way too liberal in his desire to grow the government. Hopefully, others will see through his oratorical smoke-screen and determine for themselves just what harm his policies (or lack of them) would do to this Country.
