Ok so I have the great privlege of going to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center for the next two weeks starting Sunday.  the base is located in 29 Palms California apx 45 miles East of Palm Springs.  Unfortunately it is not as good as it sounds.  29 Palms is the worst possible place to be while you are in the Marine Corps (CONUS obviously).  We are going up there to blow shit up for a couple weeks (I don’t blow shit up I just fix stuff they break).

I get to start my Sunday at 0200 in the morning as i have to be at work at 0330 to start pulling weapons and all that good stuff (don’t think Im sleeping Sat night).  I will then sit around waiting for my stick of trucks to move out and begin the 4-5 hour drive up there.  Thing is if I were driving my own car and not in a 7-ton i would be there in under 3 hours.  Set up and all theat god stuff will be a day ar two and then out to the Mojave desert to train for 8 or 9 days.  Come back to the rear for a couple days and clean shit then back to Pendleton on the 21st.

For those of you that have just started reading do not think that I will not have content for the next two weeks because I will.  I have some articles set to publish while I am out there and I will have internet access (commercial not g’ment as I can use my cell phone as a modem I lvoe this thing) for sure Sunday-Tuesday morning.  Hopefully I will be in areas that have cell phone signal a couple of times that I am out there so that I can at least get on the laptop here and approve and reply to comments.  Also I will put together a couple of posts while i am out there so that I can get those out as well (as long as there is cell service.)

This field op could not have come at a worse time for me.  My beloved Giants are going to be in town next weekend and I was wanting to get out there and watch them (Tim Lincecum) beat the Padres again.  Second Street Scene is back in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego next weekend and there are some great bands coming.  Third I just founds out about the convention or whatever in Vegas in two weeks and I can’t even get out to that.  They do say that bad things come in 3’s so that means that the field op itself will go off with a hitch right.  HAHAHA yeah right highly doubtful as we are diving 150+ Marine vehicles from Pendleton to 29 Palms I know they wont all make it.
